First Edition Signed
First Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author Wes Herschensohn: ÒFor Monchy - Hope you get a kick out of this. With much affection, Wes. Dec. 4, 1979.Ó Below his signature, Herschensohn has drawn a little pipe issuing a bit of smoke. Quarto, 360 pages. Illustrated throughout with black & white photos and stills from the film, and 32 full color images. Touch of edge wear, else fine in a very good bright dust jacket with some minor dust soiling, some rubbing to the spine, a very faint dampstain to the rear panel, and a few tiny tears. The book tells the tale of how animation artist and storyman for the Walt Disney Studios, Wes Herschensohn, tracked down and met Pablo Picasso with the intention of teaching him the craft of animation. The whole process in turn inspired the creation and development of a feature film, produced by Herschensohn, with a screenplay written by Edwin Boyd and Ray Bradbury, directed by Serge Bourguignon and Robert Sallin, and starring Albert Finney, Yvette Mimieux, and the dashing real-life bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguin as himself. To make an interesting story even more intriguing, the film was never released. This book, however, gives us all a glimpse into a unique experience combining film, art, celebrity, creativity, and, above all passion.
