Book
Gebunden. Condition: New.
Hardcover. 2 vols. Leather boards, with red and black title blocks with gilt letters on spines; marbled flyleaves; 932 total pp., 41 engravings. The complete two-volume set of this early history of the United States, published when the country was just 59 years old. The views of the engravings reflect the population centers of the time: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, with two views of Niagara Falls and one of the Natural Bridge in Virginia, as well as a few random others. Would make for fun browsing. F (Well-worn leather is crumbling on both books; on both, the front cover has separated and is present; pages vary from average foxing to moderate; all engravings are present but are also subject to moderate foxing; a set that is a candidate for rebinding, although the decent marbled flyleaves would be lost.).
