Condition: Very Good. 10 color plates, 18.75" x 14.5" each, loose as issued, ready for framing, from paintings by Peter Hurd based on sources in the "Honolulu Archives, the Bishop Museum, the Library of Hawaii and the Honolulu Academy of Arts", in portfolio (measuring 19.5" x 15.25") with interior folding flaps. With [3] p. folder, 9.25" x 14.5", containing descriptions of the scenes depicted. The scenes depict events in the history of Hawaii prior to its annexation by the United States. Upper spine of portfolio cracked along margin; otherwise fine; plates and folder like new. Rare and impressive production.
