About this Item: The Baker Gallery, 1969. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Second Edition. Published first in Columbus, Ohio the previous year, this stated Second Edition is a a sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Bound handsomely in a blue jeans-like denim cloth, with sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Andrew Wyeth contributes an Introduction. An unusually heavy book, with one chapter by Hurd, "A Brief Note on the History and Technique of Lithography," and then "The Lithographs." 60 plates altogether. First edition, hardcover, signed by Hurd on the half-title, hard bump to edge of spine about a quarter of the war up the front edge, slight lean, otherwise a clean, VG+ copy in a price-clipped dustjacket which has a couple of closed tears and some rumpling over the aforementioned bump, a half-inch mostly closed snag near the base of the rear gutter, some light soiling, a few short closed tears to the edges and tiny chips at the spine ends.
