He visited the National Mall and sketched the Smithsonian Folklife Festivals leading up to the Bicentennial from 1973 to 1975 as well as the festivities on the Mall during the Bicentennial year, 1976. Part I: Approaches to the Bi Centennial Years, contains sketches from 1973-74-75 with captions; Part II: Commemorating the Bi Centennial year 1976, contains 13 sketches honoring the spirits of the founding fathers of the original 13 colonies.
