The supplementary volumes which are dated between 1886 and 1940, are bound in green gilt lettered cloth, they are very good clean copies with slight shelf wear here and there, minor offsetting to feps, and the occasional bumped corner. Generally very good. This is a heavy set and may require additional postage if being shipped outside of Europe. Large 4to.

He was one of the twenty founding members of the British Ornithologists' Union. He closely studied the fauna and flora of Central America and had several plants name after him, He corresponded with other scientists of his time including Charles Darwin and lived at South Lodge, Lower Beeding, Sussex.This set is very heavy, and delivery costs may be a consideration especially outside Britain. Handsome very good indeed set with slight rubbing.
