Dust jacket protected in a paper-backed mylar sleeve, pristine and intact, not price-clipped. Slipcase clean ad intact except for slight splitting along edges and slight wear to extremities. Pages pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color of the artist's work. Beautiful monograph featuring the woodcut prints of Naoko Matsubara (b. 1937), a Japanese-Canadian printmaker. Matsubara's artworks featured herein are thematically tied by the city of Kyoto, Japan. Among the prints' subjects are foliage, bustling city streets, portraits, and abstract designs. Another stunning part of this book is one original woodcut print, no. 694 of 3000 copies, by Matsubara. The print is SIGNED by Matsubara in pencil in bottom margin and numbered by her as well in the lower-left corner. The woodcut is printed in black ink on thin, light brown paper. The depicted scene in the print is an abstract landscape with Japanese lettering and decorative foliage. Foreword by Fritz Eichenberg. Introduction by Bunsho Jugaku. Clean, presentation copy.
