    No Binding. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. This portfolio has 26 matted etchings plus titled "Frontispiece" from the book "Eaux Fortes Modernes" published by Cadart & Luquest 1862-1864; the etchings are from only Volume # 2 with plates #61-120 (NOTE: some plates are missing in this portfolio); they where issued over a five year period & 60 etchings issued each year; French text on frontispiece reads: "EAUX- FORTES-MODERNES - PUBLIEES- PAR-LA SOCIETE DES AQUA-FORTISTES - 2ND ANNEE - MDCCCLX1111" -A. CADART & LUQUET- Editeurs- Gerants De La Societe des Aqua-Fortisteszz"; Imp: printed by Auguste Delatre; at bottom right of each image is the text "Imp. Delatre, Rue St. Jacques, 303, Paris"; the portfolio was in the Canton Art Institute's Collection (1001 Market Avenue, North / Canton, Ohio 44702) & they put their small invisible imprint embossed at very bottom of some the sheets; all etchings are titled & labeled on back of mats & with a label notice saying "Donor: John Hemming Fry Collection"; on back of mats is stamped "Photo 7-24-70" & "Inventory Jul 22 1982"; each etching at bottom is titled, with artist name, publisher, & numbered at very top edges; paper size: 20-1/2 x 13-1/4in., image sizes vary but most are approx.: 12-1/2 x 9-3/4in.; all are matted in the same size thick white acid-free mats: size: 24 x 20in; each etching is attached to the mat at tops with Archival white acid-free tape; CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS: "Frontispiece. NOTE: etchings are wrapped in 2 different boxes & each weighing 22pds. EXTRA postage necessary.
