One with the stamp of Dell Publishing Company to the verso, and one with the stamps of the New York Public Library Picture Collection and Reference Department / Theatre Collection to the border and verso. Based on the 1936 play. Three cadets become friends at the Virginia Military Institute, where they lightheartedly play pranks and break rules. Actor Eddie Albert's debut feature film, and the set on which future husband and wife Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman would meet. Set at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, and shot there on location. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, with light soil and edgewear.

Vintage reference photograph from the 1936 film. Based on the 1930 Pulitzer Prize winning play by Marc Connelly, based in turn on "Ol' Man Adam an' His Chillun," a 1928 collection of pseudo African American folk tales by Roark Bradford. One of only a handful of films to feature an all-Black cast made by a major Hollywood studio during the Golden Age, becoming the highest grossing such film, and remaining so until surpassed by "Carmen Jones" in 1954. 9.5 x 7 inches. Very Good plus, with pinholes at the corners and light toning overall.
