Paperback. Condition: New. Brand new softcover book! ; (Volume 12 of the Faith Promoting Series) "Some of the incidents narrated in this book are so miraculous that one is naturally led to exclaim, 'truth is really stranger than fiction;' and occurring, as they have done, in the experience of our faithful Elders, they have a double interest for young Latter-day Saints, and will surely be the means of strengthening the faith of all those who expect to participate in the glorious labors that devolve upon this people. Such examples, too, as are herein presented will, undoubtedly, have the effect to instil a proper amount of righteous ambition into the minds of the young, thus causing them to exercise talents which are designed, if properly used, to make of them noble men and women. ; Faith Promoting Series Series; Vol. 12; 5" x 8"; 96 pages.

Paperback. Condition: New. Brand new softcover book! ; (Volume 15) No lesson taught by the Savior during His ministry in mortality was more frequently and thoroughly impressed than that of unselfish service. "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal." .The recital of some typical examples of sacrifices unselfishly made in the interest of others, and the joy experienced therein, may tend to promote faith in those who read the same and incite them also to lay up treasures in heaven.(Preface Excerpt) ; Faith Promoting Series Series; Vol. 15; 5" x 8"; 96 pages.

Paperback. Condition: New. Brand new softcover book! ; (Volume 16) From THE SUFFERING AND SERVICE OF THOMAS BRIGGS: "They called upon President Wilford Woodruff, who was then in charge of the St. George Temple on the same day. After he had endorsed their recommends, Thomas explained to him his condition, and asked whether he should keep the bandage on his leg or remove it. Brother Woodruff remained silent for a while as if communing with the Lord, and then told him to come to the temple early the following morning and to remove the bandage. "Thomas recognized the St. George Temple as soon as he saw it for it was the building he had seen in his dream. When he entered the temple, the scene was enacted that he had witnessed in the interior, although he had said nothing to anyone about the dream. "They worked in the temple the entire week. Each day Thomas removed the bandage from his leg when he entered the temple as he had been advised and noticed with both interest and gratitude to the Lord that there was no discharge whatever from the ulcers. Strangely, however, when he left the temple in the afternoon each day, the oozing recurred and continued until he entered the temple on the following day. Nor did he suffer any pain while in the temple. "After finishing the work for all the dead whose names and genealogies they had, they drove out on their return journey a few miles and camped. That night, soon after Thomas had retired to rest in his bed under the wagon, his mother appeared to him. "'You have made a mistake in my genealogy,' she said. 'You have given the date upon which I was married instead of the date of my birth; but you need not go back now, as some of the family will soon come here, and then you can have the error corrected.' "She disappeared when Thomas was about to embrace her . . . ." This is a remarkable account of sacrifice, spirituality and miracles and appropriately placed in the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES ; Faith Promoting Series Series; Vol. 16; 6" x 9"; 97 pages.

Book
Paperback. Condition: New. Brand new softcover book! ; (Volume 8) Published as one of the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES, this book was designed to build the faith of both young and old Saints by demonstrating the obvious hand of the Lord in the lives of early Church members. The Preface shares this insight: "Many deaths have occurred within the past few years among the veteran members of our Church. Numbers of persons have recently passed away who were connected with the Church during the early years of its existence, and whose lives were filled with scenes and incidents of the most interesting nature. Their wonderful experiences as far as known are appreciated by their intimate friends in whose memories they are embalmed, but they will hereafter only be known as tradition, for, as a rule, they have left no written testimony or record of their lives to show to future generations what they have seen or passed through. We have scarcely ever heard of the death of such a person without a feeling of regret that the important scenes of which he was a witness while living were no better known, and that a definite and accurate account of them had not been written before his death. "A short time since we conceived the idea of publishing a volume of the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES, entitled "'Early Scenes in Church History'," to be made up of such incidents of appropriate nature as we could obtain from early members of the Church." This was the first collection of spiritual incidents to be used in the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES and became a format for many successive books in the series. ; Faith Promoting Series Series; Vol. 8; 6" x 9"; 96 pages.

Paperback. Condition: New. Brand new softcover book! ; (Volume 17) The last of the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES, this volume is double in size because of all the stories obtained from members of the Church in their effort to influence for good the faith and lives of the young people of the Church. It was also enlarged as a result of a conversation the publisher had with a literary friend that the members of the Church would be willing to pay 50 cents for a book of this value just as easily as they would pay 25 cents for one that was smaller in size. Therefore, this volume is double in size as compared with other editions of this SERIES. "The articles included in this volume are sufficiently varied as to subject matter to interest most of those into whose hands it may come", so said the publisher in the Preface. These range from missionary experiences among the cannibals of the Hawaiian Islands of James S. Brown, to those of William Parkin who was inspired of the Lord to borrow money with the faith that the Lord would provide a way for him to repay. Other events given in this volume are a sailors experiences at sea of divine protection; obtaining genealogies; warnings of the Spirit; prophecies of Heber J. Grant and their fulfillment; to Anson Call s efforts to protect and defend the Prophet Joseph Smith and efforts of the enemies of the Prophet to influence Brother Call to turn against Joseph. ; Faith Promoting Series Series; Vol. 17; 6" x 9"; 178 pages.
