Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Maps by Charles A. Lindbergh (illustrator). 1st Edition. This is Anne's account of her flight from North Haven, across the Arctic Circle to Alaska, then Russia, Japan and China. She states that it is not a technical account, as she is not qualified to write one. Her story contains 244 pages followed by an Appendix which includes a list of emergency equipment used in a forced landing on land and one on sea, equipment used in a parachute jump, and emergency food carried on the plane. There is also a flight log dated from July 27, 1931 to October 2, 1931. The book is in near fine condition. The pages are clean and free of all marks, tears, and folds. There are no signatures but there is a previous owner's stamp on the inside cover. The dark turquoise cloth cover shows a silver plane on front and silver title and author on spine. It is clean, the corners are sharp, binding is tight. But there is some light scratches on the back cover.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Lindbergh, Charles (Map) (illustrator). xii, 275, [1] pages 21 cm. Illustrations, Endpaper Map. Foreword by Charles Lindbergh. Includes log of survey flight in the appendix. Cover has some wear, soiling, discoloration, and some dings at bottom. Previous owner's sticker on fep. The story of a survey flight across the dangerous Atlantic Ocean in 1933. Anne Spencer Lindbergh (née Morrow; June 22, 1906 - February 7, 2001) was an American author, aviator, and the wife of aviator Charles Lindbergh. She was an acclaimed author, whose books and articles spanned the genres from poetry to nonfiction, touching upon topics as diverse as youth and age, love and marriage, peace, solitude and contentment, and the role of women in the 20th century. Lindbergh's Gift from the Sea is a popular inspirational book, reflecting on the lives of American women. Listen! The Wind is a 1938 book by the American writer Anne Morrow Lindbergh. It tells the story of Lindbergh's and her husband Charles Lindbergh's 1933 flight from Africa to South America across the Atlantic Ocean. The book focuses on the last ten days of the flight, when weather conditions and illness caused trouble for the couple. The book has a foreword and map drawings by Charles Lindbergh. The title is taken from the British poet Humbert Wolfe's poem "Autumn Resignation". When the Lindberghs were waiting for enough wind to commence the flight in Gambia, Anne had kept reciting two lines from the poem: "Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves". Just like Lindbergh's first book, North to the Orient, Listen! The Wind became a bestseller and was among the ten best selling non-fiction books in the United States for two years in a row. It received the National Book Award for Nonfiction. First edition [Stated]. Presumed first printing.
