Condition: Fair. No Edition Remarks. 278 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Black and white photographic plates throughout. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Pages and plates are lightly tanned throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Ring marks to rear board. Wear marks overall.

Book has light rubbing and smudging to covers, spine cocked to the right ever so slightly, a bit of scuffing light smudging to textblock, former owner's name printed on front endpaper.otherwise book is in good condition. Pages are clean, bright and presentable with tight binding, and a decent spine.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 278pp, with monochrome plate portrait frontispiece and coloured endpapers. From a numbered, limited edition, this being No. 33. In read vinyl boards with gilt decorations and lettering (very gently rubbed on corners). Top text block edge is a little darkened. There's a small scar at the top of the front paste down endpaper, and a label indicating the limited edition and numbering, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A history of the Lipton company - grocers and developers of the Lipton Teas - founded by Sir Thomas Lipton in the late 19th century. A nicely produced, strong, clean copy. 8vo.

Full Leather. Condition: Near Fine. Reprint. Type: Limited Edition 278pp. A super copy of this limited edition, being number 66 of 100. Orginally published by Hutchinson & Co Ltd, this reprint is beautifully bound in full red leather with gilt embossed lettering to the spine and Lipton crest to the front board. Several b/w photographic illustrations, including a frontispiece plate. The slightest of foxing to the fore edges. There is a limited edition sticker to the front paste down and a neat ink 'No 66' to the rear paste down. Perhaps the slightest of rubbing to three corners. A well preserved, near fine copy.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. London. Hutchinson and Co. (Publisher's ) Ltd. Thought to be first edition; Lipton died in 1931 so a posthumous memoir if this is not a first edition. Hard Cover. Handsomely bound in publisher's brown boards with gilt titles to the spine. The spine junction has a small split at the tail and both spine ends are a little softened. Corners are fairly sharp and boards are in very good plus condition with little wear. 24 monochrome illustrations including drawings, plates and photographic frontis of the author. The contents of the book are near fine with firm tight binding. There are two former owner names on the flyleaf; one states 'Property of A.J Feldon, Allied Suppliers Ltd (Lipton). Lipton was a part of Allied Suppliers so assuming this copy owned by a former employee. There is also a gift inscription to the half title which although similar to Lipton's hand is not authenticated as his. This is dated 1931. Thomas Lipton (1848-1931) established a very successful chain of grocery shops and the Lipton tea brand. He was also keen on sailing yachts. His entrepreneurial zeal made Thomas Lipton a rich man and earned him a place in high society.
