The life of Field-Marshal Frederick Sleigh Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, a British general who became one of the most successful British military commanders of his time. Born in India, he joined the East India Company Army and served as a young officer in the Indian Rebellion during which he was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry. With details of his time in India from birth to his transfer to the British Army. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities.
