Decorative Cloth. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. This is a presumed first edition of The Story of Polar Conquest. It is" The Complete History of Arctic and Antarctic Exploration, including The Discovery of the South Pole by Amundsen and Scott, The Tragic Fate of the Scott Expedition, and The Discovery of the North Pole by Admiral Peary." It contains 352 pages and begins with Captain Scott's Last Message to the World written on March 25, 1912. There are many pages of b/w photo illustrations. The condition is good. The pages are clean and free of marks, tears and folds. The binding is tight. The red paste on cloth cover shows considerable wear on the bottom edges and lower part of spine. There are also some stains on back.
