3pp, 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, lightly aged. Folded twice. He announces that he has been nominated for the Presidency of the Medico-Chirurgical Society by the Council, and supposes that he will be elected 'according to custom'. He continues: 'Now I had rather you did not talk about it, till you hear it from other quarters but I mention it this early to you, because, I wish to invite you to give us one of your best papers, before the year is out.' As Wooldridge is aware, the Transactions of the Society 'are much thought of and used', and in consequence his paper would not be 'likely to be lost sight of by the Medical Public, for I should reckon upon its being admitted to the Transactions'. He ends on a personal matter, stating that he and his wife 'were much disappointed at not seeing Flo [Wooldridge's daughter Florence] yesterday - and were sorry to find Dorothy a little out of sorts'. He hopes that Wooldridge will allow 'one or both' to spend a few days with him.
