Author's initials blind-stamped on front cover and date of binding bland-stamped on back. Dedicated to King Friedrich Wilhelm I of Prussia. Headpieces depicting the spirit of God dwelling over the water at the beginning of each section. Polyglot Old Testament with Hebrew and Latin texts in side by side columns. Extensive scholarly footnotes discuss alternative versions. Old Testament text is based on the 1699 Berlin edition. The editor Johann Heinrich Michaelis also made use of five manuscripts and 19 printed editions. Latin preface to the Reader. Text in Hebrew and Latin. Book-plate from previous owner. Title page missing. Rear red marble endpaper torn. Some staining to interior leaves, but the pages are legible and in overall very good condition. Book is in overall good condition.
