ISBN 10: 0824038797ISBN 13: 9780824038793
Book
Cloth, 8vo, 19 cm, xi, iv, [2], 212; 10, [3] pp, ills. A photographic reprint of the 1835 edition published by R. Groombridge, London, with a new introduction by Bernard Middleton. From Middleton's introduction: "Arnett's Bibliopegia (1835) was the [third bookbinding] manual to be published [in Britain]. Although it lacks the interesting trade lists and tables contained in the Cowie manual, Arnett's work is the more significant, and it is interestingly illustrated. Bibliopegia appeared at a time of immense changes in the structure of the trade which were brought about by the introduction of new techniques and equipment, and this in turn was precipitated by the rapid evolution of industry and society in general." An ex-library copy with an ink stamp to the verso of the title-page with some show-through, ink stamp to front free-endpaper, bookplate removed with skinning of front pastedown; a little rubbed, otherwise Good.
