Each page with original hand-painted etchings after photographs, mounted within gilt-printed mat boards. Profusely illustrated. Some maps. Every page with descriptive text on facing page. Volume one with 146 illustrations, volume two with 116. Cloth at edges lightly frayed. Some scuffing to spine of second volume. Spine of first volume lightly worn along top edge. An extraordinary record of Franciscan churches, schools and priests with architectural and interior views. With text in Latin, English, German, French, and Italian. Overall good+ condition.
