Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Second Edition. Second edition from 1948. Originally published in 1940. Published in the International Series of Monographs on Physics. The boards have heavy bumps to the top corners and a little surface marking and staining to the front and rear panels. Light browning to the page edges and to the endpapers with the original owner's name, a date and 'Ramsay Trust' in ink to the front free endpaper. The owner was Professor Peter Gray who was the Master of Gonville & Caius College in Cambridge between 1988 and 1996. One of the authors, Nevill Mott was also a Master of Caius between 1959 and 1966. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has browning to the spine and around the edges with chipping at the top and bottom of the spine and a ragged closed half inch tear at the top of the spine next to the front panel. Chipping to the corners and a little staining to the front panel.
