In the preparations for the 100th anniversary of JornÆs birth in 2014, the work of James Ensor was more or less a sine qua non. The strong artistic connection between the two artists achieved two objectives simulatneously: the reintroduction of one of the great European painters whose paintings had never been widely exhibited in Denmark, and the chance to experience JornÆs pictures in the light of one of the most influential artists. In addition to a voluminous display of JornÆs work, represented in this book is a collection of more than 25 Ensor paintings and an even greaternumber of drawings and graphic prints, loaned to Museum Jorn by a great number of individuals and institutions for the exhibition. Lushly illustrated and deeply documented, including text from experts in the field. , Danish/English, Year2012, Illust. B/W118, Illust. Color127, ISBN 9788792307118, Code 7010.
