Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. B/W Photographs (illustrator). First Edition. SUBTITLED : ` A History if the Alberta - British Columbia District of Lutheran Church - Canada'. The first Lutheran minister arrived in Alberta in the Stony Plain district - west of Edmonton. The year was 1894. In 1902, four Lutheran families had migrated from Wetaskiwin, Alberta to Mabel Lake, British Columbia - near Vernon. By 1911 they had a church built. These are the roots of the faith in Canada's two western provinces. The church was organized under the Missouri Synod. Preaching stations were quickly established in outlying districts (Morningside, Bear Hills, Harmattan, Giscome, etc. ) where churches were not at first warranted. 212 pages complimented by several b/w historical photographs. The early language used in the church was German, this later had unexpected consequences. Cond ; Paper wrapper is white with blue lettering and graphics. Volume is bright, tight, square and clean in ALL aspects. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Excellent theological reference. Quote (p. 44) : " ._._. from a service held in English.
