Hard Cover Cloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. [Date from copyright page.] Notes; index; vi, 342 pages. Attractive blue cloth in very good shape with a bit of spotting and a little rubbing to extremities; gilt lettering on spine as bright as new. [See image of actual book.] Interior is bright, crisp, and clean except for fewer than a dozen pale pencil marks by my philosopher-father. Taken at random from the text: "Sartre is important because he is also a novelist and dramatist and, still more, because he is a philosopher of literature whose aesthetic philosophy depends on his philosophy of freedom. I have dwelt on him at length; and I have done so, not only because he is influential but because I disagree with him on some structural issues, and because I admire him enough to be disappointed by him." (p. 208.) As with every book from my father's collection, tipped in at the front is a small, attractive, acid-free bookplate. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly-----domestic sales sent with 'delivery confirmation' tracking; most international sales sent via global priority.
