Ephemera. Single typed sheet, 8.25 x 11 inches. James K. Hackett (1869-1926) was an American actor and stage manager. In 1911 he appeared in his debut film'The Prisoner of Zelda' for Zukor's Famous Players Company. Typed letter signed by secretary ('dictated but not corrected' typed at bottom of letter). On letterhead 'Tour of James K. Hackett / Season of 1911-1912', dated September 23, 1912. Letter deals with Hackett's plans to tour East via Los Angeles, correspondance re Professor Armes, University of California, Berkeley, and Hackett re publication of a work of Hackett, and thanks to O'Day for an evening at the Press Club, hoping that he will be voted a non-resident member of that club. Very good copy with rust marks from removed paperclip at top of letter. Letter previously folded for mailing. With typed addressed envelope with 'Tour of James Hackett / Season of 1911-1912' on rear.
Ephemera. Typed letter signed, on letterhead 'Superior Court / Everett C. McKeage, Judge / City Hall / San Francisco,' dated July 8. 1941. Addressed to Edward F. O'Day, The Recorder. Letter thanks O'Day for the notice of McKeage'e reappointment to the Superior Court and for past kindnesses. About 65 words.
Trade Paperback. Typed letter signed on American President Lines letterhead, dated January 4, 1946, addressed to Edward F. O'Day, 'My dear Ed.' Letter thanks O'Day for articles 'on my visit to Greece. I am having them copied and sent to some of my friends.' About 40 words. Letter previously folded for mailing. Grady was President, American President Lines 1941-1947. In 1945 Truman appointed Grady as his personal representative to the Allied commission supervising elections in Greece.

Cullinan was a newspaper reporter and editorial writer for the San Francisco Bulletin, 1896-1911, while he maintained an active law practice. Later he was appointed Municipal Court Judge. He wrote 'Preparation for Trial of Civil Action', 1954. Letter is foxed and was previously folded for mailing. There are pencil notations on rear.
