Second edition of the Second Series (1878-83), bound in green cloth, with what appears to be very faded silver stamped lettering on front cover and spine, is in FAIR condition, having also slight fading near top front cover, and rubbing/scuffing to cover and spine surface; corners bumped and worn; former bookseller pricing in pencil on first free endpaper; between reverse of first free endpaper and frontispiece illustration, former owner attempted repair with book-binding tape in gutter (now shows some separation); main title page almost completed separated (small tears to edges); pages have some normal age-toning; evidence of old water-staining to some pages (not very obtrusive); last page of index is separated and included, with small tears to edges. Book is illustrated with only one b&w photograph (frontispiece) showing the "western section of Adyar library". Religion. Theosophy. DB.
