This letter is an acknowledgment of payment received by Marcus J. Parrott (signed by him) on behalf of Mess. Lindsley Shair and Co. to Lewis S. Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Parrott was a U. S. Congressman from Kansas from 1857-1861. This letter comes from Washington, D. C. The body of the letter is in a different handwriting from Mr. Parrott's signature. Signed by Author(s).
