Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Illustrated by John Groth (illustrator). O. Henry was the pseudonymn of the the famous American short story writer William Sydney Porter (1862-1910). This pretty printing of O. Henry's famous short stories were chosen and introduced by Harry Hansen. Original lavender publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering encased in a lavender-colored slipcase. The Sandglass 4 page pamphlet is loosely laid in. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The slipcase is also in nice condition with no tears or splits (there is a little sunning to the edges). The Heritage Press imprint indicates that it was published in 1965; however, the Norwalk place of publication means that it was printed sometime between 1976 and 1983. This copy appears to have been seldom, if ever, read. Please inquire if you would like more information.; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 366 pages.
