First Edition
Decorative Hard Back. Condition: Good. First Edition. Title page + blank + X + 16 pages text + 60 full page single sided pages of plates/illustrations. Condition; Binding, hardback poor, wear/worn with a little material loss, staining rear, spine with some edge tearing, good clear original embossed gilt to cover. Contents Good, many pages very good, as gutta-percha was used in production at spine to hold all pages together, it has of coarse crumbled away, so all pages are detached (Original i.e. not re glued or restored in any way), about 10 pages with edge wear/damage/nicks, about 10 corners were folded, no inscriptions, some edge dirt etc. It would seem this is a genuine First Edition of 1893, yes some dealers put a date of 1888 as title page not dated but title has Andrew N Prentice associate of the Royal institute of British architects & Slone medalist 1888. That was the date he won the medal and nothing to do with when printed. The publishing date of this book is clearly printed to the front cover 1893. So a decent complete first edition reference copy of 1893, illustrated area good, please see all scans. This is a very large book and will require extra shipping to cover the cost. Size: 25 x 48cm.approx, Folio.
