About this Item: The Aldine Publishing Co., / Goodship House, London, 1934. Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Will close its text block, but rubbed to edges, also frayed and darkened to head and heel of spine, so a solid "Good." Mild foxing to final pages. No publication date stated; 1934 is our guess, though when books published at "Goodship House" were dated at all they usually run 1926-1932; other sources suggest 1930 for this title. Colour frontispiece duplicates jacket front panel. Colourful Salvation Army presentation plate dated 20/1/36 and affixed to FFE. Hard-to-find jacket itself is "fair"; frayed all along top edge and missing top 1/3rd of somewhat darkened jacket spine. "Made and Printed in Great Britain by Purnell and Sons, Paulton (Somerset) and London." The lesser of two copies now on offer. 192 thick pages. A book best known for its bizarre and (more lately) Politically Incorrect title. Reduced from $390. Seller Inventory # 003643

About this Item: The Aldine Publishing Co., / Goodship House, London, 1935. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Will close its text block. Some foxing to page edges and final page, but internal pages remain pleasingly white. Book smells old and slightly musty, but not unpleasantly so. No publication date stated; 1935 is our guess, though when books published at "Goodship House" were dated at all they usually run 1926-1932; other sources suggest 1930 for this title. Colour frontispiece duplicates jacket front panel. Presentation inscription to FFE from "Express and Star Fund" dated December, 1938. Hard-to-find jacket is "good" with small chips to corners and a closed one-inch tear to bottom center of front panel; spine somewhat sun-faded. (The red ink fades fastest, giving DJ spine panel a somewhat greenish tinge, here.) "Made and Printed in Great Britain by Purnell and Sons, Paulton (Somerset) and London / CF / 37 / 663." The better of two jacketed copies now on offer. A book probably best known for it colorful title, the meaning of which has clearly changed with time. 192 thick pages. Reduced from $690.
