Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. On December 11, 1969, the French President decided to have a Center erected in the heart of Paris, not far from Les Halles, devoted to the contemporary arts. Later named as Centre Georges Pompidou. This is the competition program in carton box containing five portfolios (sunning to edges, stain on back cover of slipcase): 1 Printed Matter 2 Photographic Documents 3 Graphic and Cartographic Documents 4 Written Texts 5 Textes Ecrits. Note laid in (do not know who wrote this note) 'This was an historic competition, one of the greatest of the 20th century with a superbly written program, and the amazing thing was that they get everything they hoped for and more. Regardless of how one feels about the building and I will always have reservations about its scale, it works magnificently and has revitalized a whole section of Paris.'.
