Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. This copy was donated in 1953 directly from the author to the National Jewish Hospital in Denver. The first blank endpage bears a lengthy (full-page) open inscription from the author to the patients, below which it is signed by Ms Ringgold and dated (March 1, 1953). Laid in to the book is a two-and-a-half page handwritten letter from the author to Philip Houtz, Executive Director of the Hospital, in which the author gifts the book and tells of her own health issues and how her faith in God played a great role in her recovery. In other respects, this copy is typical ex-lib, with the usual stamps, marks, etc. The dust jacket, though crimped and a little creased, remains in quite decent shape. It is unmarked but for the very faint intials of "B.R." on the spine, and has a few very short tears. Signed by Author(s).
