Clean bottle-green hardback binding with gold-coloured illustration to centre of both boards of what looks like an urn with a thistle on top with flag/banner to either side and an open book, goblet, helmet, mask etc. Gold-colour decorations of armorial and Scottish medieval weapons and a tartan and shield to spine. Light wear to spine-ends and boards' corners. Page-edges moderately browned and rough-cut as of period. Pages very clean and tidy,
