Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Visible wear marks to boards.

Discoverie of Guiana by Ralegh was originally printed in 1596 and Discoveries of the World was originally printed in 1601. Both facsimilies of these first editions are bound together in vellum boards with gilt author's names to spine and gilt coat of arms of Queen Elizabeth I to front board. The boards are held closed with ribbon ties. Printed by offset lithography in Milan, Italy by Amilcare Pizzi on laid paper specially made by Cartiera Ventura. Bound by Legatoria Editoriale Giovanni Olivotto. Clean and bright. Includes a supplemental booklet with modern introductions and notes, which is bound in cream paper side-stapled wrappers. Both items are housed in a dark brown cloth covered box with leather author label to spine and paper facsimilies of both title pages to the side panels. Spot to front of box and minor wear to edges. Lined with red felt. 112 pages / 97 pages plus 20 page supplement. TRA/020923.
