Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. Moderate tanning to spine and edges. Moderate water staining to rear board, with ring shaped mark.

A contemporary gift annotation on the halftitle page. Some signs of foxing at each end of the textblock but this clears considerably towards the centre, and on the whole the contents are pleasantly clear and bright when considering the age of the book.
