Originally built by the U.S. Army in the 1870's to deal with the threat of Apache Indians in the area. The Army used the fort for various purposes until World War II when it became a training area. After the war, the fort moved into the electronics age. Included are illustrations, photographs, maps, document facsimiles, fold-out maps, endnotes, a bibliography, a chronology, and an index. This copy is clean and solid with a number of signatures on the inside cover, possibly members of the historical society.
