OP Nancy Spero (1926 - 2009) was an American visual artist whose work was influenced by political and cultural concerns. She created visual pieces in reaction to various wars, including the Vietnam War. Gradually her focus was on sexual politics and women's issues. Her work was outspoken, and she gained a respected place in the culture of feminist Art. ******************************************** This small brochure, titled Nancy Spero - To Soar II" - is a fleaflet, horizontally aligned, folded three times, forming six panels, measuring 6 7/8" x 6 1/2" when folded, and 20" x 6 1/2" when extended. It is an announcement and description of the exhibition of her work that was hosted by Smith College Museum of Art in Northampton, Massachusetts, from March 1 to May 20, 1990 . "Nancy Spero - To Soar II" is a single sheet of paper folded to form six printed panels. The 6 - paneled brochure, which displays various of her images, is printed on all panels in red, brown, bronze and pale ocher. The text, which was written by Mimi Hellman, is printed in dark brown. The exhibition was curated by Mimi Hellman and Barbara A. Kellum. The Brochure was designed by Laura Chessin.
