W.A. `Billy' Buchanan got his newspaper training in Peterborough in 1892 working on the Examiner. He was sixteen. After a stint in Toronto at the Tely, he tried St. Thomas and Winnipeg, eventually arriving in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1905. Even as he lived out his many political ambitions, he remained associated with the Lethbridge Herald. 196 pages, indexed but UNillustrated. READ more about : Taber, Mackenzie King, Henry Wise Wood, Medicine Hat Riding, Grassy Lake, Laurier, and Marcella Sheran. Cond : Boards are orange with silver gilt lettering - spine only. End-papers are white. Dust jacket is also orange (if faded) and features a photo of Billy at his desk - circa 1949. Volume is tightm, bright, square, and clean. P/O name on ffep. D.J. is much tattered but is 93 % complete. Excellent prairie political history ! Quote (p. 64) : " A parliamentary recess for the Coronation on June 22 of Their Majesties King George and Queen Mary meant a temporary interruption of the debate.
