Condition: Good. F. Olin Stockwell went as a missionary to China from his Oklahoma pastorate in 1929. He worked tor five years in South China and fifteen years in West China. In 1950 he was imprisoned by the Communists and remained in prison for almost two years. Between interrogations by his captors Mr. Stockwell found time to write four manuscripts: a volume of religious poetry, a diary, a study of the Gospel of St. John, and "Meditations from a Prison Cell". Missionary Stockwell, after a sabbatical leave spent in his homeland, is continuing his work in the Orient among Chinese people. Published 1954, Fourth Printing. Binding of book is intact. Moderate foxing, shelfwear and creasing on covers of book. Some tanning and foxing on edges of book. Annotations in pencil, some foxing, creasing and several waterstains on insides of covers. Slight foxing on certain pages.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. F. Olin Stockwell (illustrator). 1st Edition. This offering is a small pamphlet - Prison Limericks - written by F. Olin Stockwell (and signed by him on the front cover) The pamphlet/booklet was published by Stockwell (and I use the word "published" very loosely) probably in 1951. He was a missionary that got thrown into a Chinese Communist prison. The pamphlet is is 4 1/4" by 7" and has 320 pages when both front and back covers (pages) are counted as pages. From Stockwell's "Introduction" . . . "Just bits of doggerel swept up from the floor of a Chinese Communist clink. " "THE READER SHOULD KNOW! These limericks and other rhymes were written in the Communist jail of Chungking - China - in the spring of 1951." The booklet is only in good condition. Thanks for looking!. Signed by Author(s).
