Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Hall, Frederick Garrison (illustrator). First Edition. First edition with taupe paper covered boards with a slightly darkened white paper covered spine and an illustrated title label, resemblng a bookplate printed in gilt. Gilt to top edge. Very good condition with slight edgewear and an owner name and date on the front paste down. Three red stamps with Hall initials on the front preliminaries. One in the form of a bookplate on the glued down endpaper, and a sailing ship amd separate simple 'h' on the ffep. Beautifully printed with introductory text followed by examples with one bookplate per single sided page. A few, including the frontis are printed n a stiff grey paper, with the rest on thinner white sheets. Also has tissue covered bookplate frontis. Includes two of Hall's bookplates laid in. A sailing ship for Robert Gorham Fuller, in collections at the Cleveland Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Art in Boston and the University of Delaware Special Collections. The second booklate is a skull for John Raynor Graves. Unpaginated.
