Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Not a book. Heavy gauge metal sign, 14" x 20", painted in red, gray-blue, & white, advertising in bold letters the realtor's location at "231 1/2 Vermont EX. 7044 (Last Number in the Phone Book) Free Parking at the Ravenna Theatre Lot". SUTRO in 5 1/2" letters. According to research, Adolph N. was the son of the famous San Francisco mayor / entrepreneur, Adolph H. Sutro, by his "contract wife', Clara Klug. Upon Sutro's death, Klug filed a sizable claim for part of the estate & won. Of Adolph N. (Newton?) Sutro, we read: "Adolph N. Sutro of the class of 1909 gained a most distinguished record in France as a machine gunner of the First Division ; he is a veteran of five battles." (1921 Polytechnic H.S. yearbook) (San Francisco)". The Ravenna Theatre was built approx 1935 and was part of the Clotiner chain. Condition very good. A few quite small rust spots & extreme right edge with paint chipped back 1/8" to 1/2". The white paint around the blue-gray words "For Rent" in the upper corners is chipped away. Rare original sign reminding us of the famous Adolph Sutro & his offspring.
