Damp staining to end papers. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Book has a slight forward lean.

Endpapers decorated with small arrow-pierced hearts. ix+207 pp. Illustrtated with small line drawimngs by Dronsfield. Very good, some offsetting to the endpapers. No jacket (the detached front flap is laid in). Presented in the form of a dialogue between a worldly woman (Cypria) and her naive, sentimental friend (Saccarissa), the ways to foster, conduct and preserve a love affair. Cypria instructs her friend in areas such as methods that women can express an interest in staring a love affair, glances, "tactics for acquiring a husband", "seven foolish practices whereby a woman may bring her love affiars to an untimely end" and so forth.
