Prefaced with an elusive Suggestive by Amy Lothrop (Anna Bartlett Warner) concerning the identity of the author(s). Hull stationer s blind-stamp to front free endpaper. Shallow stain to fore-edge of many pages, and some soiling, though a majority of pages in the middle of the book are clean and not stained. Some gatherings of pages protrude at fore-edge, but are not loose. Rather musty. Small octavo, in contemporary crimson cloth, boards decorated in blind, spine lettered in gilt: soiled and knocked but firm, gilt quite bright. 19thC editions of this title are scarce.
