One May morning in 1847, John Johnson, a trapper, returned to his Rocky Mountain cabin to find the remains of his Indian wife, killed by Crow braves in his absence, and of her unborn child. From that moment Johnson vowed vengeance on the Crow nation. He killed and scalped 300 of them and ate their livers. A macabre story told through patient research and oral accounts from Johnson's partner 'Del' Grue and another mountain man, White-Eye Anderson. (Originally published in hardback in the USA in 1958 with title 'Crow Killer').
