[Kentish history] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.896. Publisher's mid blue cloth covers with gilt titles and decoration to front and spine. Numerous black and white illustrations within. Internally fine, some light spotting and damp marking to the edges not affecting the pages inside. Offset toning and some indentation affecting the rear free endpapers from a couple of pressed dried leaves, now absent. Binding a little rubbed to extremities and to the gilt medallions. A much brighter copy than often found. Near fine. The rare companion volume to The Goudhurst Jubilee Book published in 1935.

Small black ink monogram stamps to fly-leaf of each volume, otherwise internally clean. Spotting to edges, with moderate general wear to cloth. First volume heavily sunned to spine, with some loss of colour to boards also. Very good.
