Small octavo in half calf and brown marbled paper re-backed boards ; ornaments and title in gilt to spine; sewn; [xvi], 253, [17] p. 20 cm. "Index Locorum Scripturae Sacrae, quae ex instituto vel obiter illustrantur" [7 p] ; "Index rerum et verborum memorabilium" [8 p] ; "Corrigenda" [2 p]. Probably a Spanish binding. In Latin with a great deal of Greek, as well as some Hebrew and Arabic. Exlibris with presentation bookplate of "Burrowes Library. San Francisco Theological Seminary of the Presbyterian Church, Presented by the Rev. Geo. Burrowes". Gift inscription to Burrowes from "his friend and brother in the gospel, Samuel Beachdown [?], Bridgetown, N.J., May 26th '39". Also two smaller library stamps of the Seminary. A legitimately deaccessioned copy although lacking a deaccession stamp. Scarce. Burrowes was a founder of the San Francisco Theological Seminiary now located in San Anselmo. || Christianity ; Gnosticism. New Testament Studies. Biblical Language Studies (historical linguistics).
