Paperback. Condition: g+. First edition. Large octavo. 317, [5]pp. Original printed wrappers. Frontispiece portrait of Mohammad Rezā Pahlavi, Shah of Iran. The first part of this Persian method focuses on acquiring the spoken aspect of Persian i.e. speaking the language correctly or, at least coming to the closest possible approximation of Persian sounds and intonation. In the second part of the book, oral work is the essential item of the program. Thanks to the red letters used both in printing the phonetic transcription and the Persian script, pupils will have undergone the "incubation" or preparation period for reading work, so that when they begin actual reading in the second part of the book, printed only in Persian script, they will not find any difficulty and will read quite easily. Moderate age-toning along edges of wrappers. Previous owner's inscription on front cover. Wrappers in overall good, interior in good+ to very good condition.
