Matsuo Basho is the most famous poet of the Edo period and is considered to be the greatest ever master of haiku.This volume contains a variety of other poets, including Kikaku, Joso, Ransetsu, Sampu, Kyoroku, Sono-Jo, and more.Translated into English and annotated here by Asataro Miyamori.Errata slip bound to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound, with some loss to the spine, and small chips to the joints. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Some light marks to the boards and spine. A touch of discolouration to the rear board. Light spots to the fore edge. Hinges are a little strained. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Frontispiece is working loose a little. Good. book.

Edwards; and a letter from Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co, dated 13th June 1955 and signed by Arthur S.Some of the letters pertain to Fox's search to purchase this volume.
