Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. xlvii 792 pages, indexed, appendix and with portraits and illustrations. The boards are chipped at the edges; the front hinge exposed; there's an ownership signature on the front end paper and pp 159/160 creased vertically along the page and suffering from very light damage at the tail's outer edge. There are also some delightful pencil illustrations on the back end paper, else a clean, unmarked and solid copy, though obviously read. 'Life and Times of Girolamo Savonarola" by Pasquale Villari was considered a classic soon after its publication," a well-documented account of one of the principal figures of 15th century Renaissance Florence." This edition was first published in 1888, this copy a tenth impression.
