Condition: Fair. 1877. No Edition Remarks. 260 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with decorations. Ex-Libris plate stuck to front pastedown. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Top edge of some pages uncut throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Staining to rear board.

Condition: poor. 17 cm, 334, illus., several pages loose, spine & fr bd nearly separated, corners of some pgs creased or gone, pgs discolored & brittle. Text appears complete. The author considered Mendelssohn's genius as it related to his life and times in the early 19th century.
Hardcover. Hardcover, good, no dustjacket. Legitimate ex-college library (stamped "withdrawn") . Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, approximately 1/4 inch deep fraying at head and foot of spine, with two 1/2 inch tears at head. Internally, shaken, front and rear hinges cracked, hinges cracked between a few of the gatherings, missing first free front endpaper and frontispiece, 1/2 inch tear and crease on inside edge of facsimile, otherwise text is clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Autobiography; travel; music.
