  • Includes: illustrations, diagrams, maps. Blue Flexible Wire-laced Card Stock Binder 13x15.25in. Monthly tab-sized loosely bound newspaper collection. Color and B&W. Complete series: "The Wicked Good, leastways not-too-shabby, Regional Calendar, with real stories and pictures, for the Sugar River & Connecticut River just plain good livin' New Hampshire Valleys" was an offshoot of "The Wicked Good Calendar for Newport, New Hampshire". The latter monthly had local news and features. The Regional edition was placed for free pick-up at 8 of the State of New Hampshire tourism information centers along Interstates 89 and 93. A story about the project to restore the state-owned former Boston & Maine Flying Yankee Budd-manufactured streamliner to AMTRAK standards inaugurated the Regional edition. Tech writer and transportation historian Brad Sears (of WGBH-TV's "Last Chance Garage", 1980s) took photos for and wrote the piece, and was asked to follow the project monthly, becoming its Archivist. He did, and W.G. Regionals flew off the racks. Other features and photos explored west central NH people, communities, and activities. Themes included monthly events, humor, politics, musicians, small business ads, destinations. Each edition was 16-24 pages, some earning N.H. Press Association awards. The FY Restoration became stagnant near completion as donations dwindled. Very good. Most newspapers fine; all at least very good. First edition. Full series: May 1998-July 2002. 1 0.0.
