Jubal Sackett is a story of danger and discovery, of savage wars, strange customs and a rugged fron (illustrator). Book Club Edition. .Now in the longest and most powerful Sackett novel to date, L'Amour tells the eagerly awaited tale of Jubal Sackett, a restless explorer who dared to go "over the mountain," across the vast continent of North America, to gain intimate knowledge of a world few seventeenth-century white men dared to challenge. Judbal Sackett is a story of danger and discovery, of savage wars, strange customs and a rugged frontier. It is a masterful tale spun within the framework of the kind of authentically detailed adventure L'Amour's readers have come to swear by. Jubal Sackett is a riveting evocation of an earlier time, of the beginnings of the "American spirit," of life amongst the Indians, and most particularly, of Jubal's fierce appreciation for the unspoiled wilderness and of his equally bold love for a proud, beautiful Natchez Indian princess.
